“Optimism, Pessimism? F**k that! We’re going to make it happen. As God is my bloody witness, I’m hell-bent on making it work.”
Well, there are enterpreneurs. There are inventors. There are billionaires. Then, there is Elon Musk.
Elon Musk, a man who not only has the potential to change the world, but he’s working on it. The future of aerospace, automobiles, hyperlooping travel is right here.
A little about him : The Canadian-American business magnate, investor, engineer, and inventor has co-founded PayPal and Tesla Motors. He is also the founder of SpaceX. Also, the co-chairman of OpenAI; founder and CEO of Neuralink. He was previously the co-founder and chairman of SolarCity and the co-founder of Zip2. Damn, isn’t that a lot for a 46-year old man?
A little about SpaceX : SpaceX designs, manufactures and launches advanced rockets and spacecraft. The company was founded in 2002 to revolutionize space technology, with the ultimate goal of enabling people to live on other planets. That’s right! It is the only private company till date to return a spacecraft from low-Earth orbit, which it first accomplished in December 2010. The company made history again in May 2012 when its Dragon spacecraft delivered cargo to and from the International Space Station — a challenging feat previously accomplished only by governments. Since then Dragon has delivered cargo to and from the space station multiple times, providing regular cargo resupply missions for NASA.
Recently, in March 2017, the company did something that many of us would not even imagine of. They successfully achieved the first reflight of an orbital class rocket. Yes, a reflight. I read more about it and understood that the basic idea of doing this was to make space travels cheaper. Let’s take it this way. Airplanes, as we see, fly again after their flight. And, they cost as much as SpaceX’s Falcon 9 did. So, why not a rocket? The majority of the cost from a space launch comes from building the rocket, which, is used just once. What if we built one and then used the same one again for the next launch? Way lesser expenses.
About 60-65 years ago, people wouldn’t believe that man can go to space until Yuri Gagarin proved them wrong in 1961. Fast forward to 2017 and look! Damn, we’ve come a long way for sure. Elon Musk defines Gandhi’s quote – Be The Change You Want To See In The World.
That’s how I’ll say our dreams should be. Not just to earn fame and money, but using it to make the world a better place. And, there’s absolutely no reason as to why you can’t do it. If you truly want it, stop excusing yourself and work towards it. Because, it all starts with a dream. And, if you’re not taking up the responsibility of chasing your dreams, then you’re just a dreamer! So, work hard. Maybe, one day, you might be someone who people will look up to. Wouldn’t that be amazing? Go, find out. Good luck!
